Safety guards
One principle runs through all of them: guards stop new trades; nothing ever stops you closing.
Liquidation
| Guard | What it does |
|---|---|
| Entry distance | A trade is refused if a leg’s estimated liquidation would be closer than 8 % from entry at the chosen leverage. |
| Emergency close | If a leg comes within 5 % of its liquidation price, the trade is closed at once. No exit rule can disable it. |
| Near-liquidation alert | You are notified when a leg is within 15 %, while there is still time to add margin. |
Execution
| Guard | What it does |
|---|---|
| Single-use quote | A review is valid for 30 seconds and opens at most one trade. |
| Worst-price band | Orders never fill more than 0.15 % beyond the quoted price on entry. See Slippage. |
| Fresh data only | No trade is opened on an order book older than 3 seconds. |
| Balanced legs | Both legs are sized to the same number of coins; if lot sizes cannot be matched, the trade is refused. |
| Unwind on failure | If the hedge cannot be placed, the first leg is closed again. |
| Crash recovery | Every order is recorded before it is sent. If our server stops mid-trade, it finds each order on the venue by its ID when it restarts and finishes or unwinds the trade. Placements are never blindly retried. |
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Size per trade | $15,000 |
| Open trades | 25 per user, 5 per account |
| New trades per hour | 50 per user, 10 per account |
Pauses
| Pause | Scope |
|---|---|
| Venue circuit breaker | After 5 infrastructure failures on one venue in 60 seconds, new trades on that venue pause for 2 minutes. |
| Kill switch | Pauses new trades across the platform, used in an incident. |
| Region | Some on-chain venues do not serve every country; new trades there are refused for users in those regions. |
None of these pauses ever blocks closing a trade.
