Exit rules & closing

Close by hand

Open the trade and press Close. Both legs are closed together. Closing always works — even while new trades are paused on a venue or across the platform.

Exit rules

Exit rules close the trade for you. Each is optional: leave it empty and it is off. Set them when opening, or change them at any time on the trade’s page.

RuleCloses when
Max loss $The net result — funding minus every cost, including closing now — falls to minus this amount.
Take profit $The net result reaches this amount.
Funding APR floor %The pair’s live funding APR falls below this level: the spread has gone. May be negative.

Confirmation window

A condition must hold for 30 minutes in a row before a rule fires. Funding and prices flicker, and one bad minute should not close a trade that pays. If the condition clears, the clock starts again.

Break-even guard

Take profit and the APR floor only close a trade that is at or above break-even, so a dip in the spread does not lock in a loss. Max loss has no such guard — its job is to cut losses.

Emergency close. If either leg comes within 5 % of its liquidation price, the trade is closed at once, without the confirmation window. No exit rule can turn this off. See Safety guards.

Close reasons

Every closed trade records why it closed: by you, by an exit rule (which one, with its numbers), or by the emergency close.
